About Me

My name is Jackson Byars

I’m a Texas A&M alum, class of 2019, with a Bachelor of Science in Wildlife and Fisheries, where I had the chance to challenge myself in honors courses and dive deep into the science I love. I’ve been a professional virtual tutor for several years, but my passion for teaching started long before that: I’ve been helping students tackle new subjects and build confidence since high school. Over the years, I’ve tutored students in more than a dozen countries around the globe, across a wide range of subjects from math and science to economics, always tailoring each session to fit their individual needs.

Learning is something I’m genuinely passionate about, whether it’s solving tricky physics problems, exploring new math strategies, or even figuring out how to rebuild my car engine. I aim to share that excitement with every student I work with. I believe that education is about more than memorizing facts; it’s about curiosity, problem-solving, and helping students think on the wild side.

When I’m not tutoring, I work as a zookeeper, caring for everything from African porcupines to crocodiles. That hands-on experience has taught me patience, observation, and creative problem-solving: skills I bring to every tutoring session. Porangu—the Argentine Black and White Tegu in my logo—is Scaled Up Tutoring’s official mascot.
